NaOMI
HENDRICKJE
LAUFE

Naomi Hendrickje Laufer

Naomi was born in Toronto into a family of artists. Inspired by the old masters and the Pre-Raphaelites, she creates ethereal works that express a contemplative and emotional feeling. Naomi works with various media, including printmaking, graphite, textiles and mixed media. Her lithography has been displayed in the south of France where she studied this technique. She also studied at OCAD and  the U of T art studio, and has displayed pieces in the Being Scene exhibit at CAMH, as well as art and poetry in Nuit Blanche.

Naomi’s current show, Shades of Translucence, paints a story of her inner life through multi-media techniques encompassing diverse elements of creativity inspired by various modes of communication - ranging from dance to poetry, daily physical movement, and her ongoing experience with people from all walks of life.

“An ethereal melody” runs through all of her work, embracing
elements of mythology & Pre-Raphaelite images - blending within

"shades of spiritual essence & visual translucence"
